![]() ![]() I directed him to meet at our location at 2:00 pm and park on the street. Let me start by saying this customer was apprehensive and sounded nervous about the activity prior to meeting me for the tour. I encourage others who are considering Blue Planet tours to check the dock location on the internet to see if they would feel safe meeting a tour guide in that location. Between myself and my wife we have spent over 40 years working in “economically challenged” areas of Chicago and feel we have reasonable expectations of businesses as well as of personal safety that were not met by blue Planet. He declined to give me a refund stating “I am not going to give you a refund just because I don’t fit your white middle class values”. He said all of Stockton Island looked like this. Chad asked us to wait 10 min til he arrived which we did. I told Chad we did not feel safe there - I stated we wanted to cancel and requested a refund. I texted Chad who said that was the correct location. We arrived early only to find no signage or office for Blue planet instead a “seedy” warehouse with aged taxis in a parking lot adjacent to a dock with old houseboats and no visible changing areas or washrooms. I was told there are washrooms changing area and lockers. Received a call from our guide Chad who said we should meet him at the dock 6631 Maloney on Stockton Island. Scheduled a private kayak tour for two - this was to be our first kayak experience- since private tour required a minimum of 3 we paid for 3 (total $340).
